Fireboy and Watergirl 5: Elements is the fifth installment in the popular platform game series. In this episode, the two heroes are exploring a series of temples, including the Fire Temple and the Water Temple. Help them work together to reach the exit.

How do you play Fireboy and Watergirl 5: Elements?
In this cooperative adventure game, you have to help the two heroes work as a team. Fireboy and Watergirl will be exploring a range of temples. Fireboy can walk through lava but must avoid touching the water. He can collect the red gems. Watergirl can walk through water, but she mustn’t touch the lava. She can pick up the blue gems.

Both characters must stay away from the green goo. Collect all the gems and bring each character to the matching exit: Fireboy must go to the door with the red Mars symbol on it, and Watergirl must go to the door with the blue Venus symbol on it.

You can only complete the levels if both characters reach the exit safely. Neither Fireboy nor Watergirl will pass through the door as long as the other hasn’t reached their own exit door yet.

What’s New in Fireboy and Watergirl 5: Elements?
Some of the levels will have features you’ll recognize from the previous episodes in the Fireboy and Watergirl series, such as new puzzle levels of the Light Temple, the Ice Temple, and the Crystal Temple.

Other elemental temples are new, such as the Fire Temple, where Fireboy can move around with ease, and the Water Temple, where Watergirl gets to move around freely. In the Fire Temple, Watergirl will need a lot of help avoiding the lava that is deadly to her. In the Water Temple, she will need to help Fireboy access a safe route past the water.

Is Fireboy and Watergirl 5: Elements a 2-player game?
This game is a local 2-player game, although you can also play it by yourself. In local 2-player games, you can share the keyboard with a friend. One of you controls Fireboy and the other player moves Watergirl around the levels. However, you can also move both characters by yourself, one by one or at the same time.

To get both characters to the exit safely, you’ll have to help them work together. Hold the buttons pressed to open doors for each other, or to activate the elevators. When both characters must pass through the same door, search for boxes or cannonballs to weigh down the buttons.

Flip the levers to slide the doors open or to make platforms move out of the way. Operate the light beams, heat rays, freeze rays, and other fun elements of these platform puzzle levels to open the passageways and guide both characters to the finish.

Are there Tips and Tricks for Fireboy and Watergirl 5: Elements?
The buttons, levers, beams and portals are color coded, so look carefully to identify each matching set. In this episode, Fireboy and Watergirl can also move far apart. Don’t worry about moving beyond the borders of the screen. The display will adjust to keep both characters in view. It’s a cool feature that’s new to this installment.

Some levels are timed challenges, so to complete all of the objectives you’ll have to finish these levels quickly. If you’re having trouble moving through the timed levels swiftly enough, try playing the game together with a friend. You’ll be able to move past obstacles faster and more efficiently if each of you can focus fully on one character.
